The post where we finally announce we're becoming the FOUR OF US(!)

In case you don't follow me on Instagram and missed our big family update here (it's my favorite), we're adding another little one to the family this September! And if you're keeping track, yes . . . this does mean all four of us will have September birthdays. (I swear we did not plan that and we'd actually prefer things a liiiiittle more spread out but what can you do?) When I saw the double lines appear I was thinking something along the lines of "ohmygosh are we really doing this again??" but two seconds later I was BEYOND EXCITED for tiny baby fingers and little puckered lips and fuzzy hair (just assuming). I'm savoring my remaining one-on-one time with Everett but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't thrilled to be doing this mama thing all over again!

It's a. . .

I got up early yesterday and guzzled 7 gallons of water as per doctor's instructions, then we headed over to the hospital for our 20 week ultrasound! Although technically I'm 19 weeks and 4 days but who's counting??

I honestly thought it might be a girl but the second the ultrasound technician found his legs on the screen it was pretty apparent that he's a boy (her exact words were, "Yep, that's definitely a boy"). He was really camera shy and kept rolling over every time the technician tried to get a picture of his face. My very-full bladder didn't love all the prodding she had to do.

Based on our ultrasound measurements, the doctor pushed my due date back two days so he's now supposed to come on September 7. If he's 4 days late we'll share a birthday (and John's birthday is 3 days after mine, so we'll just have a week-long celebration every year!) Baby is obviously okay with that because I got to feel my first little kicks yesterday afternoon.

PS I was convinced that girl clothes are the cutest but then I found a pair of newborn boy footie pajamas with little printed dinosaurs and DINOSAUR FEET and I took it all back.

19 Weeks

Here we are at 19 weeks (almost halfway there!). On Thursday we find out the gender of our baby so I figured it was about time to take a picture of my belly. So far I haven't wanted to document because people were probably wondering "Is she pregnant or is she just gaining weight?" No obvious baby bump, just general chubbiness. Honestly looking at these pictures I still feel a little chubby . . . but at the rate my stomach is growing there's definitely a baby in there. So far I haven't felt any kicks or flutters but my morning sickness is basically gone so I'm really enjoying the second trimester.

Any guesses on gender? John thinks it's a girl but is secretly hoping for a boy. I'm still undecided.

Surprise!

We found out New Year's Eve and just couldn't keep it a secret anymore. Yesterday was my first doctor's appointment and we got to see baby kicking and waving and wiggling all around. We can't wait until September (looks like all three of us will share a birthday month!)
