My baby at 7 (and a half) months

13 18 15 11 14 16
Last week I met John on his lunch break at the city clerk's office to apply for a passport for Everett in preparation for our big road trip to British Columbia this summer. I can't believe how big he's getting! He rolls like crazy and sits up pretty well, plays peek-a-boo with his blanket (or a napkin, or a sheet, or his own shirt), loves eating and gets really excited when he sees anyone with food, and is obsessed with dogs. He still doesn't have any teeth and doesn't appear to be working towards crawling any time soon, and lately every time you smile at him he grins huge and closes his eyes. It makes me laugh every time. He says "mamama" and "dadada" so hopefully soon he'll start to recognize that those sounds actually mean something. He babbles constantly.

He loves when John counts to three and throws him in the air and he starts giggling right when you say "one" so clearly he knows what's coming. He's an expert fake cougher and if you cough back he'll get even louder. People tell me all the time that he's the happiest baby they've ever seen and I have to agree. Every morning when I go get him from his crib and bring him back to our bed to nurse and snuggle back to sleep for a little while longer, I think how lucky I am to be his mom. Somehow sitting on the front porch watching the dog run around with Everett on my lap makes the late nights, grumpy days, and massive blow-outs worth it. ;)
