Weekday Date Night

Spontaneous date nights/school’s-out celebrations are my new favorite.

This one involved a stop at Oh Sweet Sadie where we bought one of my favorite Rifle Paper Co. London art prints (John pushed me to because the price was really discounted and I love anything London... now I just need the map print) and one of these Lemon Sugar candles (John’s new favorite because it smells amazing! Running back today to pick up a second at his insistence). Fresh garden salsa and a few pretty hardbound books may also have been involved. Supporting small local business is the best.

Afterwards, we decided to try somewhere new for dinner since that’s one of our favorite things to do and we haven’t in a long time. We picked Blue Lemon and it was heaven on a plate. John got the steak tacos and I got chicken with a tomato cream sauce, fingerling and purple potatoes, artichoke, and spinach. I can’t describe what was in John’s tacos because I was too busy inhaling my own food. We’ll definitely be back ASAP.

Finally we stopped off at the driving range which is admittedly not the activity I’d choose if I planned the whole night, but the sun was out and there were little kids chasing ducks and I’m pretty sure it’s one of John’s favorite places on earth . . . so no complaints here.
